The Things Inside My Head
To say the things inside my head
Would be unwise, I fear;
To think the things that can't be said
Brings thoughts of you too near.
For you are far, it would appear,
In action and in thought,
Too far to see the many tears
Your inaction has brought.
You said you loved yet you loved not
The way I thought you did,
The way I loved, my whole heart caught,
In thoughts you now forbid.
The things inside my head with me will always with me stay,
While you, my wise and tearless love, have gone so far away.
