Of Our Reaction To Repetition
Are we really so incapable of feeling a thing twice?
Are we really just checking off experiences against a list
so we can be satisfied we are getting our money's worth?
You know what our money's worth.
If we are damned to doing a thing over and over,
trying to feel what we felt the first time,
then let's just sit quietly with our back to the world,
resisting the pull of the initial.
