Kites
Kites in my chest
Reckless and alive
In defiance lunge
Skyward
Thinning air
In my lungs
Neither flies free
Each is tethered to my heart.
MADNESS.
Downward
On winds as still as the silence after a whisper
Loosing strings
Losing altitude.
