All Bright Batteries
Seeking stasis between two poles,
we align ourselves clumsily
according to positive and negative biases,
attract and repel with a surge
of competing currents that fouls our contacts,
drains our cells, and discharges our souls.
We all run down and are discarded,
our only hope that somehow, somehow,
we are rechargeable.
