Why Should I Not

Ten years untouched, twenty.
I am no longer as others are.
But why should I not say
others are no longer as I am?
Why should I not say
many have lived alone
and more have died alone?
Why should I not say
I am not with them
but I am one of them
and that is community enough?
And why should I not say
that I will say no more
and turn my back on everyone?
