What You Want 3

What you want is this, and then that,
but what there is is this-and-that
inextricably bound with the other—
pull it and it distorts,
pull it out and it disappears—
but if I try to say so,
if I try to see so,
you say no, you say whoa,
you say dude, I only want
what I want and not the rest,
and I want you to know what I want
and give it to me, and I want you to know
what I don't want and keep it from me.
You want what can never be, so far as I can see.
