What Can I Tell You

What can I tell you that you don't
already know or will never know,
that you have made a part of you
or decided to forget or not to care about?
Perhaps you will enjoy hearing me say
the thing you have enjoyed thinking before.
Perhaps you will hear my voice
as music, to make a subtle soundtrack
to the linear trek of your favorite thoughts.
The only thing would be to go silent
if I didn't long to be your music,
or hers, or his, or theirs.
To be silent, and see if you have anything
to say about it.
