Vanity 2

Who has salted my eyes?
Who uses my mouth as an inkwell?
Who holds an onion under my nose
and teases fire ants onto my skin?
Aren't the punishments for vanity
excessively harsh?
Don't the lies disguised as truth
sound just like music?
I shall indulge in repetition:
there is nothing sweeter.
Give it to me again,
I will take it again;
take it again,
I will give it again.
Who has broken my heart?
Who has broken my life?
Whom have I forgotten
who still dreams of me
when they close their eyes?
