They Say
Let the world burn,
they say,
and line up with their marshmallows.
Here is some kindling,
they offer.
If it is to burn,
why wait?
If ours is to lose,
to weep, to die,
why delay,
why not begin at once?
Here are the things I love.
Take them.
Convert them to light and heat.
We will watch what you do
and know what you've done.
As you are determined,
let it be so.
