The Storm 2

We love the storm and we love the shelter.
But we love the storm more.

Its presumption of danger,
presentiment of damage.

Obsessed with the insignificances
of language,

the things there
when noise recedes,

crafting of coincidence
correlation,

immersed in the immensity
of consensual consummations,

the astounding
hidden in familiarity,

I love those
who resist coercion

more than those
who resist temptation.

It is only consequence
that inhibits excess.
