The Ones I Can't Stand

The ones I can't stand are those
who have quit looking,
who have settled for this
bit of nonsense or that.
I understand the temptation;
I don't understand succumbing
to the temptation.
I want nothing to do with them.
I understand pausing to rest;
I don't understand stopping, giving up.
You've made your choice.
Now there is nothing between us,
nothing linking us.
I hate you for that.
