The Nights of the Unseen Moon

                                                — to everyone who prepared a contribution
                                                    which was subsequently lost

Give us your grisliest greeting, a mutilating welcome,
a sincere and relentless introduction, or stay strange
and distant within the little tent of your identity.
First impact, not first contact.

Ruthful trashers, hero-heretics gathering reality relics
from the Remnant; empathy vs entropy sponsored by the bigotry
of biology; the savor of hope unconstrained by probability,
undaunted by predictive analytics, the wisdom of age,
the wisdom of the age.

Not just a multiverse but a fractalverse, shattered
by anachronistic schisms, stained with tacky anthropomorphism
around the aperture of opportunity.  How the unpoetic sings for me!
How I am transfixed by the antipoetry of the poem!

What's outside the frame, off-stage, situated in virtual
Potemkin villages centered round the Martyrdome:
dreams deferred, dreams deformed, consigned to hidden
or forgotten spaces to die unreconciled with the world
after a lifetime listening to arguments for why you shouldn't live.
