The Last Happiness
The last happiness is amputation.
When all the taut knots
that you sought to tie
so assiduously
slip and release,
when connection is revealed
as camouflage,
when they would assert privilege
they've betrayed
and claim homage
they haven't earned,
sever them away.
It's better to bleed free
than to crouch intact in bondage.
