The Interrogative

The poem lives in my mind,
then dies,
then is reincarnated in yours.
Or is lost to forever-death.
A sequence need not be a cycle.
The feeling when watching an old movie
and realizing everyone in it is now dead.
An old memory.
If only there were time to take one's time!
Every step is a step toward an end,
every pause, every rest.
The poem moves in my mind,
it tries,
then is interred in yours.
