The Imperative Interrogative
The most exacting is the most exciting.
What shall we do with the imperative interrogative?
Shall we all, then, stand on Archimedes's head
so we are not moved when he moves the world?
Nothing in existence is unconditional.
In non-existence, either.

Because of our nature, patterns are satisfying,
and discovering which patterns satisfy best
is perhaps the best use of our bequest.
Can you conjure the joy of reclamation?
The most useful thing
is one who dares what you don't.

I shall build this wall—or is it a stair—
with pseudoprofundity upon pseudoprofanity.
