The Hill at the Edge of Town
There is a hill
at the edge of town
scattered with unremembered bones.
When the folk
just can't stand
another soul,
they take the body
and make it bones
and take it to leave
on the quiet hill
on the edge of town
and then get on
and then go on
as if nothing'd happened,
as nothing happened.
