The Geisterwald

I reject the world by embracing it.

Let us praise what rises for us to criticize.
Time erases far more than it reveals.

The Geisterwald.

The idea of anachronism
become anachronism.

Our repetitive escapades in the marketplace
of markets.

The kind of people who thrive
in the kind of world we've made
are not my kind.

If it takes a monoculture to feed us all,
let's volunteer to starve a little, to fast
on behalf of complexity, of robustness,
of interconnection.

Let us inquire through assertion and assert through inquiry.
Only the already divided can be indivisible.
Taking things for granted is my favorite luxury.

Is work the best you can get
out of a beautiful animal?

The point is not the purpose, the purpose not the point.
But maybe.  But maybe.  But maybe.

Why evolve into a shackle?

Truth is so much larger than beauty,
for truth grows and grows,
while beauty peaks early then erodes,
starting over and over.

I embrace the world by rejecting it.
