The Corruption of Signals
If we can't treasure peace, then let's buy a real war
where death is cheap release for all who lived before.
If we can't think as men, then let us feel as beasts
and fight mindlessly when called by politicians, priests.
When the world was inert there was peace through neglect,
but it started to divert when things moved to connect.
Now all is network, though the signals are complex—
bellicose noise corrupts them, so the species self-corrects.
