The Apparent Perturbation
The initial/eventual application of a particular gesture.
Pose the question like a recumbent mannequin.
The implications are not always perceptible.
I am interested in the way you use words
to the degree that it influences how I use words.
I demand an itemized accounting of all the things
that happened in my presence unnoticed.
To question me is to assert you.
Only the intelligible is eligible.
You can see the world from inside the poem
or the poem from inside the world,
one or the other, one then the other,
then, sooner or later, neither.
I am exactly the same as you
in a completely different way.
