Terror's Paradox



Be afraid, they say.  Shout.
It's warranted.  Appropriate.
Be more afraid than you ever have,
find that sweet spot just short of panic.
Authorize, empower us
to make everything better again,
then wait, cower there while we
make progress toward salvation.
Every day we get halfway there.
