Terror, Treason, Threnody
Rare as humble
billionaires,
heroes fight our battles,
villains win our wars.
Treason, they tell us, lies
in refusing to be complicit after the fact.
How much daring it takes any
more to assert personality,
the space to be one among many
rather than merely one of many,
one of money. To remember that
request trumps restriction.
As easily imagine a unique grumble,
other dreams delightful.
What is the statute of limitations
on crimes committed in dream?
