Semblance

The world will produce a semblance of what you desire,
if only to taunt you with it.

To execute desire is to ignore the world—
but what if the world is real
and has something to tell you?

Are you so sure you know what is
and what isn't?

If you are, you don't.

Divorce the illusion of clarity:
incident, reaction, fiction, precedent;
the hysterical decoration of style;
vintage emotions, heirloom ideas.

Commit to candid deeds
in the rest of all possible worlds.
