Sappho Said The Most Beautiful Thing

Sappho said the most beautiful thing
is whatever one loves.
Keats' equation would indicate
that it's also the truest.
But all love is delusion.
So we are factories of false truth.

Aggregate, regulate, mitigate,
you who fear the each alone
and his and her power to slip
the dictates of conformity
to ring the bell of the rebel.

If there were more time
one wouldn't have to force things,
if there were time for them to develop naturally
or statistically. But there is so little time
and so much that
                               we feel
should happen.
