Requiem for the Once-Requited
You will never
finish your wish.
To discover another
amongst the clutter.
To assess the significance
of the contribution.
Is it worse for something to go wrong watched
or unnoticed?
And how much discomfort
will you take on to please me?
That cunning plan
you never put into action.
As if we must recycle a thing,
over and over, to extract its full value.
