Remember 3

Don't trust memory.
Enjoy it.  Suffer it.
But don't trust it.
Memory is made of what was,
but it is what is, not what was.
Memories are recreated
every time they are retrieved,
and we are recreated
every time we retrieve them.
They repeat, they repeat, they repeat,
a perfect medium for deceit.
Our memories make us unique.
We are made by what we remember;
what we forget is where truth retreats.
