Our Separate Ways
But they muted your shout,
quelled your violence,
reduced your climax to something
measurable, something that
could be recorded and forgotten.
Imagine being insensible
to the omnipresent poetry.
It's like that. Like finding out
that Park Eun-bin
is immune to love.
When they aren't enough
to serve your purpose,
you must reduce your ambition
to what you can achieve alone.
If you are going to take it,
take it personally.
When I say I would condemn them all,
you say "Then you condemn yourself"
as though you were saying something
new or clever or irrefutable.
It's not their being wrong that damns them,
but their insistence on their right to insist
they are right when they are wrong.
Your parables are repulsive—
recant! Recant!
