Our Great Lie
Our great lie is that we are committed to the truth.
We don't want the truth,
we want the world to tell us, yes,
every beautiful lie is true.
Joy is an aberration,
but why dismiss it on those grounds?
Life, too, is an anomaly.
The system exists
within another system
within another system
within another system,
and this must be—
but usually isn't—
accounted for.
A masterpiece of mantelpiece.
