On Lucidity

What forms of courtesy apply in a dreamed world?
What etiquette is appropriate?
What limits on action—and abuse—should be observed?
What harm can come from violation?
Everyone is me. And I am everyone.
What do I owe those parts of myself
unfamiliar with the compromise of consciousness?

A lot eludes notice,
tendencies, trends, and patterns.
Where shall I place my focus now?
What shall receive my attention?
Every decision is the result of debate.
Is guilt the weight of the losing voices
seeking to unchoose my choices?

If unity is a waking illusion,
then is the multiplicity in dream not confusion
but a clarity exposing the bottom-up generative process
of experience and identity?
Does awareness of myself
give privilege or responsibility?
Can freedom remain freedom
or does it demand constraint?
