Of Knowledge & Wisdom



They say we can find knowledge in the noise,
wisdom in the silence.
But that sounds too glib, too pat.
Surely both are intertwined
and dependent on one another!
Surely either can be acquired
from different sources.
And there is the definitional issue.
Some insist they are just two flavors of opinion.
Yet everything I do requires both, in some measure.
Maybe there is only silence in noise
and what enters our focus determines our process.
Maybe the lesson is that lessons
emerge independent of origins.
