Not Appetite, But Apathy

What appears empty is never empty,
though it may not contain what you're looking for.
The word "empty," then,
is full of misconception.
I am emptying, and emptier every day,
but not empty.
I contain a memory
of being full—
or near enough to it.
This memory also contains me.
I am emptying and not refilling,
draining everything I acquired
into a non-empty void.
What are you looking for?
