My Mutinous Design

as we age, as society fractalates into complexity,
we are increasingly confronted by phantasmagoria
insisting we acknowledge it as legitimate

            but the only appropriate monument
            to superstition is disdain

            if there were a god,
            confronted with our stupidity
it could say only stupid things to us

show me a veil and I will lift itand I will leave it
show me a knot and I will loosen itand I will tighten it
show me a lie and I will deny itand I will buy it
show me a shadow and I will light itand I will hide in it

praise the time of mutant children
            acknowledging the futures

            gunfire
            tears
            gunfire

they've got to improve the news
