Morir Soņando

Whatever they tell you is wrong,
whether they try to lie
or think they speak truth.
They don't know, they guess
from hope or evidence
and look away when life conflicts
with what they've decided to believe,
which, fundamentally, is that they can't know
what they can't know, it'd be too much, so
they settle for less, for what seems,
for what they want to be, or don't—
for dreams.
