Maybe 3
Maybe we've all made it harder than it needed to be.
Maybe the trick is to figure out what is missing.
Maybe the hidden is hideous.
Maybe the world is the Ark.
Maybe the known is truer than the knowing.
Maybe what is is always also what it never is.
Maybe the naive are better at intimacy.
Maybe unrequited love is the only kind of love.
Maybe injustice can never do justice's job.
Maybe the ideological is always illogical.
Maybe more is no substitute for better.
Maybe "better" is best defined as "preferred by me."
Maybe how I am is who I am.
Maybe I had to be thus, to balance the world, for symmetry.
Maybe it would be an honor to be included in your schemes.
Maybe it's not what you heard but that you heard.
Maybe that feeling eating lunch beside the Willamette.
Maybe the present kills an infinity of futures.
Maybe dying happy isn't the same as happily dying.
Maybe the miracle is that there was ever anything to die.
Maybe you can take it with you, out of the world.
Maybe reassess the illustrious illustrations.
Maybe the self is part of the other.
Maybe "individual" is what we call our multitude.
Maybe there is no person in the third person.
Maybe the savor is the savior.
Maybe without sensation, no rhythm.
Maybe everything is less than infinite.
Maybe nothing doesn't make a difference.
Maybe the incomplete is more complicated.
Maybe our negligence has been negligible.
Maybe my life is the entirety of my inheritance.
Maybe heaven is ridiculous.
Maybe life is a question without an answer.
Maybe I have learned to say it better.
