Lost In The Cosmos

We are a simplified interface on a complex system
constantly—curiously or cautiously—falling for the plausible.
And always another demand for another concession.
Are we source or portion?  Yes.  Energumen.
Disorganized, decentralized consciousness that evolved
catastrophic consent, inventing metaphors that don't pertain
because they sound lovely, like a spontaneous tune.
Understanding arises only though reduction,
leaving us overwhelmed by things we haven’t seen
and things we can’t acknowledge or admit.
From the hell that fascinates as it devours
death will deliver us, taking no one to nowhere,
no doubt.  If the future is a pseudo-fractal expansion
of the present, how can so much be lost?
