Life in the Warm Years

Any creed that declares affection, kindness, joy
weakness is contemptible—and yet, the irony,
and the difficulty, is that they all at times are.

The heresy of self-sovereignty
promotes the blasphemy of love.
But better that strength be tempered
with weakness lest it render
one incapable of relating to the vulnerable.

No one should be so strong
that they can forget connection.

Whoever invented the concept of magic
has a lot to answer for.
