In The Dream

In the dream, pain ends.
Agonies dissipate,
miseries are set down
and walked away from.
What you have carried for too long
that was too heavy for you to carry at all
is dropped.
Regret goes, scars vanish,
the suffering you thought was part of you
is gone.
You inventory what is left,
and it is good.
This dream is so damn good.
And then you wake.
