History 8
History is another fiction.
No one is capable of telling it like it was
without coloring it with predisposition and agenda.
Stories. Stories. Stories.
Selection bias. Narrative necessity.
Who tells you who the hero was
and tells you who the villain was
is a villain.
Who takes the lessons from history
while denying it historicity
is a hero.
We can't grasp the present in its entirety—
the past adds an additional level of difficulty
in being gone.
