Here Is How You Must Live When I Am Dead
Dying is such a shitty thing to do
to other people.

Know that is, are do not imply was,
do not promise will be.

Know that what once was was once—
and never recurred.

Know it is inappropriate to feel
gratitude for luck.

Know that hope is a powerful seasoning,
a terrible staple.

Know that, having laid a foundation,
it is now time to build.

Don't reject the pleasant, the pleasing—
but don’t overrate it.

Know that the only evil
is the creation of suffering.

Adhere to the moral obligation
to be suspicious of the pious.

Try to understand what you can't explain;
don't try to explain what you don't understand.

Seek everywhere sincerity, a sense
of humor, kindness and cleverness.

Never trust someone who can't make you laugh.
Never love someone who can't surprise you.

Accept no substitute.
Reject no original.

Never raise people so high
that you can’t see what they’re doing.

Don't elevate the ignorant—
educate them!

Most compensation is issued for acts
unethical and antisocial.  Change that.

The invention of money is the solution
to the Fermi Paradox.  Fix that.

Teach everyone the oxymoron of the century:
corporate culture.

Be the change.
Or be the change that changes the change.

Do the right thing, as you understand it,
without expectation of recognition or reward.

Remember that one is not obliged to do
what one hasn't chosen to do.

Find yourself
by losing your self.

Treasure the hidden thing,
for far more things are lost than are hidden.

Acknowledge every death
a murder.

I got this far, no further.
May you get further.
