Gesturing

is there enough slack, enough flex,
that everything could have been otherwise?

the mind apart
dividing humanity
into pity and disdain
with algorithms of criticism

as we excrete our responses
to provocation and inquiry

waiting to be recruited
by the imaginers of the real

because “I want to eat”
is not the same as “I'm hungry”

is watching a gesture?

even sacrifice is a strategy
(often an unsound one)
for gain

to induce apparition
from resistant statistic,
chance or choice

forgone contusions, confusions, collusions

every “I” is like the sky:
finally reached, still untouchable
