My friends are all on tv
and don't know me.
Or in books,
when I bother to look.
I'd rather sit quietly alone
than chat and jabber on the phone.
A few ghosts haunt the internet—
I'm dead to them. Yet
hermitry is nothing new,
and puppetry will have to do.
This is not a plea—
there's a price for being free.
