Fossils

Every word is a fossil.
Poetry reveals temporal anomalies.
As attention atrophies into anxiety,
the prosaic reprisals.
Calculation plus connotation
is comprehension.  Right?
Sincerity is nearly extinct.
We are the people who pose.
Look!  Another unique exemplar!
Obsessed with outcome when we should
embrace process, we're distracted by
a commotion of information.
Intent is either everything or nothing,
and I intend to find out which.

All poems are written and copyrighted by Michael C. Rush.
