Extinction
I resist being rushed through life.
My home is in the moderately exotic,
the novelty of comfortable antecedents.
the craziest thing
is how normal life can look
to some people
There are things I don't like but recognize as appropriate.
And foul injustices. And random happenstances.
And trivial whocares.
Debt and largesse
are the only rational responses
to a rapacious economy.
Planting a tree
is enough nobility for me.
I resent being rushed through life.
How could you, my reader,
forgive from your world
in which so much I take for granted
has gone extinct?
antebellum anxiety
my mad attack plan
caught in optical amber
There is nothing remarkable in the commonplace.
This is what makes conversation so damned difficult.
