Eventually

I believe in caution but not in fear.
I will never write a poem on patience.
All waiting happens on a speeding train.
Into the tunnel, into the tunnel—
will it come out again?
Eventually, no.
Perhaps they acquire because the more one has,
the more glorious its abandonment.
Or so they believe.
Or so they say they believe, when pressed.
All understanding lies in misunderstanding.
The visionaries vs the revisionaries.
They challenge the change,
and then they change the challenge.
Who touches a thing without describing it?
We have become complacent in our despair.
It is time for what there is no time for.
I have not come to bring peace, but a word,
living the parabola of paralipsis.
When I am done drinking,
I shall set my teacup on the floor.
