Emblems
For certain recursive iterations of self
rehearsing alternate histories,
alluvial illusions of continuity
confusing comprehensiveness for completion,
departure begins at arrival,
incarnation incanted into
the crass insistence on chance,
consequential commotions,
dispassionate dispossession,
and enigmatic emblems
of those who foul,
those who fail
to romance the lush,
banish the barren.
