Disambiguation

We are meant to do something before life can kill us.
What that is is up to us.

Who are we?
We seek recognition,

stimulation
of emotion.

We are our memories,
but we are not our memories

because we are not guaranteed our memory.
We don't accept.  We augment.

We want free will
(or a sufficiently-convincing facsimile)

but cannot choose
not to desire.

We want all,
even if we can't have it whole.

We believe there was magic in the past
because there was magic in our past.

We dream some at night even while awake.
We follow the path of obsolescence.

We'll queue up to worship the Cruel,
but never the Arbitrary.

We laugh at discrepancy,
question the pragmatism of sadness.

We pursue community for continuity.
We seek a flame without smoke.

We don't deserve it.
We don't not deserve it.
