Continue

Go forward.  Go through.
CONTINUE,
until everything around you
changes, becomes less distinct,
less credible.
Revisit your memory
of wanting to live in a world of what is
rather than of what is available,
to dream, likewise of what is,
not—or less, at least—what is not,
then acknowledge the distance
between the you you were then,
the world you then inhabited,
and the you you are now,
in THIS world.
Observe the degree to which you are defined
or confined by the level of relative
sanity or madness surrounding you.
The entire world has become
something different, something altogether
more dire, in order to isolate you
from yourself (preposterous!
the world collapsed, but with no
thought of you at all!)—
CONTINUE, keep going,
drop your map but keep moving.
Why surrender, why accept,
why CEASE
when you are already promised death,
when you are all ready,
more than halfway there?
Let everything be broken, COLLAPSE,
become dysfunctional and absurd—
but keep moving, into it, through it,
toward the next reversal.
