Brazen

we must learn to contemplate
the end of species without regret:
sand takes one shape,
then another

connection is an illusion
in a universe of isolated nuclei—
bonds, a theoretical convenience

seek collision
in the knows-bleed
of the configured contiguous,
grief glimpses of relevance

specificity is a lie,
every exact thing
flashes then fades

we are
the destroyer,
the storm,
the fire

what we are
is what matters,
not what we want to be

we all react to the world—
give me brazen over pious every time
