Borrowed
the meeting of the minds is an appointment difficult to schedule
and to keep
addiction is an accountant's name for obsession
(remember, accountants invented writing)
the free have no duty
but the responsible do
to linger longer
during the after
to gather—but not collect—seashells in the mountains
show me your mutations
everything else about you
is so much the same
that it makes you human
rather than you
shall I embrace you agreeably
as representative humanity
or obsess over your deviant individuality?
the clues are dispersed
to permit the pleasures of seeking
theoretical heterosexuals
heretical in their restraint
the echo of orgasm
in the chasm of discontent—
what is borrowed
is what is spent
