Bindings

Every day things are made harder;
every day I am confined with new bindings.
This is not the life I meant to live;
these are not the poems I was meant to write.
They are different, other, and not better.
I am in the wrong place at the wrong time,
and it is making me the wrong me.
I pace left, and then right,
but it is no longer possible to walk.
I think left, and then right,
but it is no longer possible to understand.
What has changed my past's future is changing everything.
The world will not be restored by what I write.
I will not be restored by what I write.
