Are we the glass?
Or the unique pattern of fracture within it?
Mimesis or mitosis? Dum spiro spero.
Words address need, redress distress.
Aspiration is appetizer to accomplishment's
feast; acquisition, the engine of loss.
How much of poetic licentiousness
is down to jumping retrotransposons?
I miss the earlier absences, before this
toxicity of excess. As if that which rouses
also recuses the sadness of closeness,
harbinger of loss as usually used,
leaves us less averse to the thirsty
calamity of frenzy.
